Who We Are

VolunteerLEON administers the Leon County Government Internship Program

 Current Internship Opportunities

  • Internship Program Enrollment Form: When possible, submit an application online by clicking Internship Application In the text fields, indicate your interested positions. In addition, to be contacted for an orientation, you MUST send a resume' (titled with your First and Last Name-NOT RESUME) to Kay Pelt-Walker at PeltWalkerK@leoncountyfl.gov.  Preferably in Portable Document Format (PDF). If you do not, your application will not be considered.
  • Commitment Agreement: Fill out during or after orientation with your internship coordinator at VolunteerLEON.
  • Office Contact and Process You should expect to be contacted by the volunteer center to schedule an Internship Program Orientation within 5 to 7 business days after receiving confirmation that you have been selected for an Internship. It is important to notify the Volunteer Coordinator if you have not been contacted after 5 to 7 business days. Otherwise, the Volunteer Coordinator will not be aware that your status is still pending. It is also important to notify the Internship Coordinator of your starting date once it has been determined.
  • Mid-Term Evaluation If all goes as planned and you are selected as an intern, your internship should begin with the department you choose. Two weeks after you have begun, a Mid Term Evaluation should be completed.
  • Concluding Evaluation and Time Records Then two weeks before your internship is scheduled to end, the following forms must be completed.
  • Intern Exit Evaluation This form provides us with feedback on each County Department. This is designed to help us improve or recognize internship supervisors.
  • Intern Hour Report This should be filled out through the duration of your internship to provide accuracy.
