Main Library Volunteer Circulation Clerk -Information Assistant
Responsibilities
The volunteer in this position greets patrons as they enter the library and provides basic directional information.. Library Greeter's duty is to successfully communicate with visitors while maintaining an attitude of respect with all. This volunteer also assists patrons with the use of the self-check workstations and directs visitors on where to go to sign up for new library cards. If time permits, this volunteer may also assist with self-service holds processing and shelving. Library greeter may be asked to provide directional assistance to patrons during large events.
Qualifications
Computer skills, strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to alphabetize and a positive attitude.
Commitment
This position requires a 3-month minimum commitment
Circulation Department, on the 1st Floor
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
10am - 12pm and 12-2 pm
