Title:
After-School Program Counselor
Major Objectives:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the After-School Program Counselor will lead all programs created for middle and high school teenage girls The Girls Room happens after school, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30pm -6:00pm at our meeting space, 1637 Metropolitan Blvd Suite A-2 Tallahassee, FL, 32308. Our programs offer a safe space for girls to freely discuss their emotions, improve their self-esteem, build positive social bonds, and be empowered.

your fullest potential. Although this is an unpaid internship, you will gain professional experience to
enhance your personal and professional goals.
Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities include creating program activities, leading group discussions, managing
student profiles, and motivating students to believe in themselves.
Examples of job duties:
● Creating material and curriculum for group mentoring sessions
● Leading group sessions with students daily
● Implementing a consistent and structured environment during program hours
● Keeping track of students personal and academic progress- Providing emotional support and offering homework assistance
- Organizing educational workshops with community partners
Qualifications:

● Successful completions of a Level 2 Criminal History Background Check
● Proficient oral and written communication skills.
● Passion for working with teenage girls.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience or currently enrolled in an accredited University and studying Criminology, Education, Psychology, or Social Work or related fields.
This position is 15-20 hours per week. Transportation is required and not provided by the company.
