STEMS4Girls for STEM Literacy Saturdays – Volunteer or Intern with Purpose!
Got 6–8 hours a week to spare? Are you ready to make a difference, represent your school, and build valuable experience working with kids? Join STEMS4Girls—a fast-growing, high-energy after school program focused on STEM literacy for elementary students, especially girls from under-resourced communities.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers and interns to assist with our STEM Literacy Saturdays—a 5-hour immersive enrichment session filled with learning, fun, and mentorship.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach and support hands-on STEM lessons based on Florida Math and English curriculum standards
- Create and lead engaging activities that spark curiosity and confidence in kids ages 7–11
- Serve healthy snacks and assist with setup and cleanup
- Help develop and execute lesson plans as part of a collaborative team
- Participate in at least one community outreach event during your term
- Build leadership, teaching, and program coordination skills in a real-world setting
Whether you're passionate about science, love working with kids, or want to explore education, youth development, or nonprofit work—this role offers something meaningful and exciting for everyone.
Commitment: 6-week minimum per semester (Fall, Spring, or Summer) Participate in 6 or more sessions to qualify for a reference letter
Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, summer camps, or after school programs is a plus—but not required!
