MONDAY, April 27th: We need about 15 volunteers to help with BAG STUFFING! All runners will receive a bag full of information and goodies and we need a prep team to get these ready. If you’re a planner, this is a great area to help out with!!

THURSDAY, APRIL 30th –VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION (MANDATORY) On this Thursday evening before the race, all volunteers get together to go over the itinerary of the upcoming days. All “Course Marshalls” (I’ll explain those later) will meet at 5:30PM this night; all other volunteers will meet at 6PM. This is typically held at the Red Cross next door to the shelter, but the exact location will be announced closer to the date. Food and snacks are provided and the orientation usually doesn’t last later than 7PM.
FRIDAY, MAY 1st – PACKET PICK UP (4-8PM) Most of the runners will be registering for the race ahead of time and will be coming to the shelter Friday evening to pick up their packets. This is a HUGE day for our shelter as we have it set up so that the people coming to pick up their packet have to go through dog and cat adoption to pick up all of their race stuff (packets, bags, t-shirts etc.).

SATURDAY, MAY 2nd – DAY OF THE RACE (5:45AM-11AM) This is going to be an early day, but we know it’s going to fly by! Any volunteers that helped with registration the night before (May 1st people) would ideally also be here bright and early to help with registration the morning of the race. Those people would arrive at the shelter at 5:45AM Registration begins at 7AM. The running activities commence around 8AM, but we will have LOTS going on including a children’s tent, setting up, parking assistance, refreshments and activities in the cat ward, a table with info about our animal shelter, and much, much more. The event should wrap up around 11AM, but because we’ll be having discounted adoption fees all weekend, we’re hopeful that we will stay busy throughout the weekend.

- Help direct traffic/parking in field across from shelter and at certain points around the area (TBA)
