The Learning Pavillion-Parent Resource Connector

 

Major Objectives

The main purpose of this department is to provide inclusive, high-quality early childhood education for families who live, work, or attend school in the greater Tallahassee area. The intern volunteer’s role is to help assist the facility in maintaining a developmentally appropriate program.

 

Responsibilities

Interns will work to help the families of the children we serve to become resilient by giving them access to resources. Interns will work to develop trusting relationships with parents and encourage them to keep us informed of home life changes that could affect the child such as moving to a new home, the addition of a sibling to the family, parental job loss, etc. Through these discussions, they work to engage parents facing barriers in our parent services in order to help them through or prevent crises with the least amount disturbance on the child as possible. Interns will also coordinate and facilitate parent meetings and work actively to increase parent involvement.

 

Qualifications

Customer service experience & professional demeanor. Proficient in zoom is preferred

 

Time, Place & Commitment

This position will be located in both the preschool building and the baby house. The initial meetings will be held in our buildings and then they will be transferred to an online setting such as Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.

A semester (4 months)
