Who We Are

Nonprofits throughout Florida’s Big Bend face many financial and operational challenges in the wake of the global economic recession. At the same time, the nonprofit sector has been under continued pressure to serve more people in need, maintain or reduce employee payrolls and contribute to the quality of life in this community. Tallahassee Community College, in association with the Community Foundation of North Florida, Council on Culture and Arts, United Partners for Human Services, United Way of the Big Bend, and several other nonprofits, recognized the need for a nonprofit resource center that would engage, centralize and disseminate the best practices of nonprofits across all sectors. The partner organizations embarked on a strategic planning process in 2010 that culminated in the development of the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence in 2014. Since then, INIE’s Board of Directors has focused on positioning INIE to play a central role in helping local nonprofits access the resources and training necessary to better fulfill their missions.

What We Do

The Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence (INIE) works to enhance the capacity and leadership of the nonprofit industry through advocacy, education and engagement. Through education, training, resources and connections, we help nonprofits grow stronger to provide more for their communities. We provide resources, training, mentorship opportunities and support to meet the individual needs of the nonprofits we serve.
