The Big Event

The Big Event is one of the largest, one-day, student-run service projects in the nation where the students of colleges and universities will come together to say ‘thank you’ to the residents of their college town. A tradition started at Texas A&M University 28 years ago, The Big Event will serve as the official community service event for the Florida State University Student Government. Students, faculty, and staff will participate in this annual event to show their appreciation to the surrounding community by completing service projects such as yard work, window washing, and painting for community members. Although The Big Event has become one of the largest one-day, student-run service projects in the nation, our message and our mission will be to simply say “thank you.”

We work with local agencies and community partners by providing volunteers to help give back to their local communities. The day of The Big Event is April 2nd, 2016 and we look forward to partnering with you to make our one big day of service a meaningful one here in Tallahassee.
