Florida Association of Food Banks

Who We Are

Food Banks work with community partners - charitable feeding programs - that serve our neighbors in need. Our partner agencies include:

  • Church pantries
  • Soup Kitchens
  • Shelters for the homeless or for abused women and children
  • Child care facilities for low income children
  • Residential programs for mentally and/or physically challenged
  • Senior meal programs

Food Banks are also actively involved in Disaster Response, helping communities that have been devastated by hurricanes, floods and other catastrophic events.

Accepts Youth Volunteers ages 14+

What We Do

Food that is close to expiration, has a damaged package or a slight blemish may be thrown away while many of our neighbors go without food. Food Banks collect surplus food from manufacturers, producers, stores, distributors and even farmers. We find, store and distribute food and grocery items that help people in poverty and times of crisis.
