Who We Are

Summer has arrived and it is a great time to visit Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park. Many bird species and other wildlife may be found throughout the park. Take a leisurely stroll on our nature trails. The rangers have been observing lots of fox and owls recently. We also invite you to enjoy lunch in our picnic area or take in the view from the observation deck on top of the large mound.

Lake Jackson Mounds is a great place for summer camp field trips. The vast archaeological, cultural and natural resources found here make this a perfect setting for camps and classes focusing on Florida history or natural science and the native environment. Ranger led tours are available. Please contact the park at least two weeks prior to your visit to make arrangements.

What We Do

To provide resource-based recreation while preserving, interpreting and restoring natural and cultural resources.
