Volunteer: Philanthropy InternsPosition Objective: To support seasonal activities of the Development Department in an environment conducive to learning the responsibilities of the development and public relations functions.
Qualifications: Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in public relations or related fields Positive, professional attitude and a team player
Skills: Knowledge of social media Verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail Knowledge of special events, fundraising activities and other public functions Ability set and meet deadlines, problem solve and manage multiple tasks Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint High level of creativity
Essential Functions: Aid in strategic planning of awareness, outreach and volunteer efforts and fulfill marketing and communications needs Assist with management of organization’s social media sites Develop and maintain fundraising and/ or public relations programs Ensure prompt, accurate gift processing, gift acknowledgment and donor recognition activities Prepare materials that promote the organization’s varied programs Write and produce materials and correspondence for agency activities Write and distribute news releases Assist Development staff with seasonal elements of the annual development plan and budget, including donor relations, cultivation and recognition Prepare materials for solicitation of special event support Assist Resource Development Specialist with fundraising activities Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Hours: Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Summer 2018 Flexible; minimum of 15-20 hours a week preferred

Volunteer: Front Desk ReceptionFront Desk volunteers help our organization function in a very specific way - they are the first point of contact for clients, donors, and visitors. Duties include: Greeting visitors and clients, taking in donations and thanking donors for their contributions, directing calls to appropriate departments, and providing general office assistance. Training and orientation provided. Great opportunity to develop office skills as well as networking opportunities with staff. Must be outgoing, proactive, and - most of all - friendly! :) Available shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 9am to 12pm or 12pm to 3pm.
