Volunteer: Valor Team VolunteersJOB SUMMARY: The valor volunteer respectfully celebrates patients who are veterans, recognizes their contributions to America’s freedom, say “thank you” for a job well done, and address the unique challenges that may exist in end-of-life care for military families.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (may include any combination of these duties) 1. Promote the various services tailored for veterans and their families, such as Valor Ceremonies, Veteran-to-Veteran visits, or life reviews 2. Perform Valor Ceremonies for patients who have been identified as veterans 3. Offer direct veteran-centric companionship or respite care in the veteran’s home or facility 4. Participate in community outreach activities to increase awareness of veteran’s benefits regarding hospice and palliative care programs 5. Assist with other support needs of patients or caregivers

Dozier Hospice House.)
RESPONSIBILITIES: (may include any combinations of these duties) 1. Provide respite for patient caregivers 2. Provide companionship to patients 3. Run errands for patients or caregivers 4. Prepare meals for patients 5. Perform light housekeeping (such as vacuuming or doing laundry) 6. Read to patients 7.
