Green Infrastructure is a low-cost and energy-saving form of water management that mimics that stages of the water cycle to provide habitats for organisms, increase water quality, and retain/divert storm water in a manner that raises biodiversity and the quality of human life.
On this day, we will be servicing/rebuilding a number of structures that divert water towards our TAPP rain gardens, so that it can be cleaned before flowing into the Chain of Lakes. The workload will be fairly intensive; it will require standing, occasional kneeling, and the use of shovels and rakes.
During your service, there will be many opportunities to learn how to implement principles of Green Infrastructure into your own home.
