Title
Volunteer Library Clerk
Objectives
The Library Volunteer – Library Clerk will uphold the mission of the library by researching and retrieving requested items from the library collection as well as ensuring that library materials are shelved correctly by call number according to the Dewey Decimal system.
Responsibilities
- Searching for library materials on the shelves.
- Retrieving stocked carts of library materials from the circulation department and putting the items in order on the cart.
- Learning the library’s filing system and shelving items accordingly.
- Keep a count of how many items were shelved and record where designated.
- Make sure all items in assigned area are in proper order.
- Straighten, shift and dust library materials as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Commitment
Youth Services Department - volunteers need for 2 consecutive hours 1 day a week.Mondays - between 12pm and 8pm
Tuesdays - between 10am and 8pm
Wednesdays- between 10am and 8pm
Thursdays - between 10am and 8pm
Fridays -between 10am and 6pm
