The Knott House Museum hosts a poetry workshop for middle and high school students in July. At the end of the camp, and alongside a local poet, they read their work for their friends and family during an evening event, followed by refreshments. This showcase is on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 6:00-7:30p.m.
Volunteers are needed from 5:30-8:00p.m. to help set up the space for the guests in the parlor, to help with food set up in the orientation room, and to help break down the chairs and clean up after the event. Volunteers get to hear the creative work of our young community members as they continue the tradition of poetry in “the House that Rhymes.”
Sign up to volunteer here or email Lydia.Nabors@dos.myflorida.com for additional information.
Minors can volunteer with a parent or guardian present.
Volunteers cannot have been convicted of, or pled no contest, or been found guilty of a crime that is a felony or misdemeanor, or is seeking court-ordered community service hours as the Museum cannot provide a volunteer opportunity in that case.
