It Happened One Night (1934) by Frank Capra will be shown in the intimate setting of the Knott House parlor at 2:00 p.m. Echoing the upheaval of the 1930s, Capra inverts the social structure of power in this screwball comedy, which won five Academy Awards. The presenter is Karen Bearor, a Florida State University art history professor who specializes in 20th-century U.S. visual culture, film and photo history, and feminist theory. The $5 admission fee includes Valentine’s Day refreshments.
Volunteers will help sell tickets, usher visitors to their seats, serve refreshments, and station each room of the Knott House during the open tour before the film begins. If you're a service-minded couple, come spend the afternoon in this romantic Victorian-furnished home!
Note: Volunteers CANNOT have been convicted of, or pled no contest, or been found guilty of a crime that is a felony or misdemeanor, or seek court-ordered community service hours at the Museum as we cannot provide a volunteer opportunity in that case.
Minors can volunteer accompanied by a parent or guardian.
