Needs From: Volunteer Leon

Volunteers are needed for the Tallahassee International Airport's 2026 Emergency Exercise. The exercise will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 6:00am to 12:00pm. Volunteers may serve as "victims" of a major aircraft accident or their friends/family members. This exercise will test our community's ability to respond to and manage an aircraft-related disaster.  

Coffee and light snacks will be provided in the morning and boxed lunches provided at the conclusion of the exercise for all volunteer attendees.

The Airport Ambassador Program is a volunteer-based organization that provides front-line assistance with directions and information at the Visitor Information Center at the Tallahassee International Airport.

We ask for a minimum of 6 volunteer hours per month and a commitment of at least 6 months in duration, but prefer ongoing volunteers.

Volunteers must pass a 10 year criminal history records check as well as the provided computer-based training to join the program and be at least 18 years of age. We cannot support court-ordered volunteer requirements.

Training on various aspects of how the airport functions is given during Ambassador Orientation, as well as pairing your first time volunteering with an existing Airport Ambassador.
