Department: Library Title: Tutor Homework Hub
Major Objectives: The goal of the LCPL Youth Services Department in offering the Homework Hub program is to provide supplemental academic support for kindergarten - 8th grade children after school at several locations in the Library system. The Tutors will work with Library staff to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for the children and volunteers participating in the Homework Hub after-school program. Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include: Qualifications: Must be at least 14 years old. Volunteers should be friendly and patient, courteous, able to work with diverse populations; pleasant and supportive of others. Mature high school students welcome.
Benefits to the Volunteer: Volunteers will gain the following skills: Gain experience providing instruction with youth and with the Zoom virtual meeting platform. Participate in a congenial work environment. Learn life skills applicable to future employment Work as part of a team Build customer service experience skills in a library environment

The ESL program helps newcomers from around the world learn English, prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam, improve workplace skills, and learn about American culture. Tutors do not need to know a foreign language to be an ESL tutor. Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include: Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old.
