Who We Are
In early spring of 1987, approximately 20 area dog fanciers met to form the Gadsden County Kennel Club. The organization immediately offered show handling classes to the public and began holding Fun Matches. In 1989 the club was sanctioned by the American Kennel Club under the name Ochlockonee River Kennel Club of Florida, Inc.
Today, we are a vibrant club offering many American Kennel Club sanctioned events. Our annual February dog show hosts 3 obedience and rally trials, three-day agility trial, 3 days of Barn Hunt, 3 days of FASTCAT (2 Trials each day) and six days of confirmation shows. We are also approved to host public education programs.
The Ochlockonee River Kennel Club is based in Tallahassee, Florida, area and welcomes any person interested in purebred dogs--whether they are breeders or exhibitors, animal care professionals, and interested multi-breed dog owners.
