Who We Are
Targeted outreach is accomplished by traditional face-to-face outreach in Leon and surrounding counties. Shisa’s trained staff collaborates with local Health Departments to help identify gatekeepers, agencies and clubs that the high-risk population frequents, and high risk areas.
What We Do
Shisa is a non-profit community based organization involved in HIV/AIDS prevention education by community outreach, presentations, and educational sessions.
Serving as an agent for behavioral change, Shisa has implemented “Smart Thinkers In Action: Taking HIV Prevention Intervention to the Street,” a campaign to close the gap of disparity in the African-American community. Our targeted outreach and health education/risk reduction services are presented in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner to the target population in Leon and surrounding counties.
Volunteers must be 18 and older. We do not do any court mandated volunteers.
